Helicopters & 1.5 crore relief material provided by Marwadi Yuva Manch
In the wake of
unfortunate calamity in Uttrakhand, the Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Yuva Manch, one
of the premier social organization of the Country, came forward in providing an
extending arm for the relief operations in Uttrakhand. Mr.Sandiip Bhandari, National
General Secretary of the Manch informed that “we have given 3 Helicopters for
relief work and relief material worth more than 1.5 crores of rupees have so
far been distributed in flood affected areas.
Mr. Bhandari further
declared that Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Yuva Manch and the Confederation of All
India Traders (CAIT), apex body of the business community of the Country, have
decided to adopt two villages in Uttrakhand for their overall re-development.
He said that necessary steps are being taken for adoption of two villages.
Thousands of people
have lost their lives whereas thousands are still missing in Uttrakhand calamity.
Large number of people are deprived of basic facilities even now and leading a
miserable life. At this crucial juncture while setting an example, the Manch
has undertaken major relief operations in flood affected areas on large scale
from 20th June, 2013. In the
first phase, the Manch has distributed food, medicines etc while in next phase the Manch shall be
distributing Blankets, rain coats, tarpaulin, plastic, lamp, lantern, stoves
etc. to meet the requirements.
Manch President Lalit
Gandhi himself led a team of more than 150 Manch workers in Uttrakhand and
during his relief work continued for 10 days, he visited Dehradun, Haridwar,
Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, Peepalkoti, Shrinagar, Joshimath and other areas and
distributed relief material through Army and other forces.
Mr. Gandhi further said that to evacuate people those
stranded in the flood, the Manch has provided 3 Helicopters of one of its
senior member M.L.Agrawal Group and in several cases, the evacuated people were
escorted by Manch workers to their respective places. In this operation of
Manch, Shri S. K. Tripathi, Commanding officer of Shivalik Headquarter of
Border Roads Organisation, Commanding Officer Amrendra Kumar of 66 RCC at
Gochar Headqaurters, Pankaj Goyal, Commanding officer 21TF Headquarter at
Joshimath and Colonel Amit Singh of Army Headquarter at Joshimath provided
excellent support.
During this calamity,
large number of local residents have become destitute and therefore to provide
them help, the Manch has prepared a Kit of Utensils, Tarpaulin Tents, foodgrain
and other essential items which have began distributing in flood affected
areas.
Extending a helping
hand in challenges of redevelopment of villages, Mr. Lalit Gandhi, National
President, Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Yuva Manch and Mr.B.C.Bhartia, National
President of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) jointly informed that on way to
Badrinath, a village Poorna, is being adopted by both organization and for this
purpose talks were held with DM Mr. Murugeshan. Likewise, during consultation
with Dalip Jawalkar, DM of Rudraprayag, a proposal has been made to adopt one
village on way to Kedarnath.
In this relief work of
Manch, several organizations including Confederation of All India Traders,
Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Sammelan, Vaidhkiya Pathak and Teerthankar Mahavir
Mahavidyalaya, Moradabad extended help for providing critical care Ambulance.
Manch General Secretary Sandeep Bhandari, Vice
President Raman Agrawal, Ravi Singhania, National Joint Secretary, Shri Niwas
Pandey, National Executive Member Seema Sethi and CEO Raj Sharma provided
excellent services in relief work.
